Tallis Scholars bring medieval Spain to New York

The vocal music of medieval Spain was showcased recently when the Tallis Scholars performed Tomás Luis de Victoria's works at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin. Karsten Moran of The New York Times has a review.

From the review:

Mr. Phillips and his singers, who recorded the Requiem a decade ago and released a disc of the “Lamentations of Jeremiah” last year, are thoroughly attuned to Victoria’s style and sensibility. You could not have hoped for a more finely blended or carefully shaped and entirely affecting performance.

I loved Phillips'

I loved Phillips' lamentations of the jeremiah a lot.  I'm really looking forward to FINDING this particular piece recorded... having issues presently
