The planned construction of a new building at Lincoln College in Lincolnshire, England, has led to the discovery of a wealth of artifacts dating to Roman and medieval periods.
Artifacts unearthed so far include a Roman copper alloy bracelet, a medieval keyhole oven and coins. Excavations will continue until building construction begins.
"These incredible archaeological finds have reminded us what existed before us – providing a unique opportunity for staff and students to explore the history that lies directly under their feet," said Ian Sackree, vice-principal of corporate resources at the college.
