SCA folk bid sad farewell to Frank "Mack" Cooper has received word that Frank "Mack" Cooper, part of the Cooper family who have hosted us for so many years at Pennsic, passed away this morning.

From Dirk Edward of Frisia:

Today we mourn the passing of Mack Frank Cooper who passed away this morning at 4:00 a.m.

The SCA owes much to this man and his family along with the Wilver family who have hosted us at their home and grounds at Pennsic for many many years.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to their church: Zion Baptist Church (in specific designated for the church cemetery) 154 Curry Rd. Slippery Rock, PA 16057. [SEE BELOW FOR UPDATE]

Cards can be send to the family c/o of the Cooper's Lake Campground Slippery Rock, PA; [mailing information is on the web site linked below.]

May his family be comforted by the thousands of people whose lives they have touched. May he go to his rest in peace.

Update: We have received word that the contributions to the church should be sent c/o Holly Lindey, 361 Country View Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.

Though they may never have put on garb, the Coopers and Wilvers are very much a part of the SCA family, for they have offered us the hospitality of their hearth and their lands these many years. We of the team, several of whom have also worked with the Cooper family members as we served on Pennsic staff over the years, send our heartfelt condolences as well.
