6th century Ethiopian manuscript identified in Minnesota

A theology student has discovered the second-oldest known Ethiopic Old Testament at Saint John’s University in Minnesota (USA). The manuscript dates to the 6th century.

He found it by viewing an uncatalogued microfilm collection of the school's Ethiopian manuscripts. The student, a doctoral student at Durham University in England, has also found the oldest copy of the entire Book of Jubilees, a book important to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. [photo]
