Honor War 2011 is April 15-17th...is your calendar marked yet? If not, please consider attending this event with the folk of Lyonsmarche in Hell's Gate State Park, Lewiston, Idaho.
Honor War this year is "More Than A War", why, you might ask, is this? Well, in addition to competitions for choosing our Champions in Brewing, Archery, Rapier, and Arts and Sciences, we will have numerous archery shoots for fun and prizes, at least three FREE classes/workshops, the very first Challenge of the Copper Dragon (a combination riddle contest & scavenger hunt), and much more!!
We will also be having an amazing largesse silent auction, with the proceeds going towards keeping our fall Newcomer's event site-fee free!! Since we have many college students in the area, this is our
effort to provide an opportunity for them to attend an event at no charge except for the feast fee. We have many talented artisans in Lyonsmarche, so the offerings up for bid at the auction will be temptingly spiffy! If you would like to contribute something to be auctioned, please do email me.
So far, the classes scheduled are "Introduction to Tablet Weaving", "Basic Chainmail: 4 in 1", and "Making a Leather Knife Sheath". Would you like to teach a class? We'd love to add just about anything you'd like to teach! Please email me if you'd like to do so. If you'd like to get on the list for any of the classes (a Good Idea, surely), please email me. All the materials for the classes are provided, but
space is limited to 8 participants for the knife sheath class, although 'auditing' to learn about leatherworking is open to all. Please bring a knife with less than an 8" blade to make the sheath for.
To my knowledge, we still have cabins available for rental; if you are going to rent a cabin, or have already done so and NOT emailed me yet, please do so, that I know to pick up your key on Friday and give it to you.
The copy and more details for the event can be found online.
