Information about Scotland and its language from 1200 CE to the present is now available online with the publishing of the "Dictionary of the Older Scottish Tongue" (1931-2002) and the "The Scottish National Dictionary" (1931-1976). By publishing both dictionaries, it is possible to show the development of a word from its earliest use to the present. In this way, the historical development of the Scottish language can be appreciated by a wider audience, and the dictionaries can be a resource for anyone interested in the culture and language of Scotland.
