Period Bible to be Created

WNET: A collaboration between a group of Benedictine monks at St. John's University in Minnesota and scribal experts from Wales will create the first hand-calligraphed and illuminated Bible in 400 years. Donald Jackson, Queen Elizabeth's own scribe, will head a team of monks and calligraphy experts to recreate a period Bible. Christened the "Sistine Chapel Project," the collaboration will consist of completely hand calligraphing and illuminating the sacred book and will cost US$4 million. The project will be completed in 2006.
