Pittsburgh Universities Create Medieval and Renaissance Consortium

Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, along with other area educational institutions, has announced the creation of the Consortium For Medevial and Renaissance Studies. Students and scholars from the Pittsburgh, PA area have combined efforts to create the Pittsburgh Consortium for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (PCMRS), an "interdisciplinary, intercampus organization of scholars working in medieval, Renaissance and early modern studies throughout the western Pennsylvania region." Six institutions, Carnegie Mellon, Chatham College, Duquesne University, the University of Pittsburgh, Slippery Rock University and West Virginia University, have joined together, funded by a grant from Carnegie Mellon. The group plans to create a website to promote lectures and other events that will take place at the institutions, and to provide biographical information on area scholars in the field.
