New Book on St. Patrick Reviewed

Christian Science Monitor: J. Morgan Sweeney, professor of Irish History at Michigan State, reviews a new work on Ireland's most famous saint. Philip Freeman has written a new book on St. Patrick. The book, published by Simon & Schuster, is St. Patrick of Ireland. A scholar in the subject of Celtic Studies, Freeman looks for the historical truth of the saint and leaves out most of the myth. The educated son of an upper-class family, Patrick was kidnapped by criminals and sold into slavery in Ireland, where he developed his deep religious faith.
