2,000 years ago, a Roman child went skipping through the mud near a Roman fort in Yorkshire, England. In 2010, his or her footprint was found.
The footprint was unearthed during excavations at the Healam Bridge Roman fort. A right print followed by two left prints suggest that the child was hopping or skipping.
The area was thought to be muddy and near a stream. There is evidence of rocks and plant material used to bridge the soft ground.
