Since its discovery in 1912, the Voynich Manuscript has been the subject of debate among scholars and scientists who argued over the meaning of its 250,000 coded characters. Now experts from the University of Arizona have used carbon dating to determine the age of the document.
The experts still do not understand the meaning of the symbols in the manuscript, but they can now say with certainty that it was written between 1404 and 1438. The Voynich Manuscript is owned by the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library of Yale University. It has been digitized and is available to view online.
