Newsday: The removal of a tree led to the discovery of 280 medieval silver coins in a Swedish garden. A hoard of 280 silver coins, most dating from the 11th century, was found recently on the Swedish island of Gotland. The coins are thought to have originated from a trade journey to Germany in 1050, since the island was an important medieval trade center. Archaeologists plan to excavate the site once the frost has melted from the ground.
