13th century flood wall in England to be repaired

In a move that could only embarrass the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, a government agency in England has ordered repairs to a river levy that has started to fail...after 800 years.

A section of the flood defense along the Trent River in Burringham, England is showing signs of instability and threatens homes and business along the river. The levy will be reinforced with internal piles as well as stone to prevent erosion.
