Come celebrate the Yule season with the Angels family. Show off your culinary skills at another fantastic Angels potluck. Join in the table decorating and dessert contests. Take part in the bardic and gaming championships. Create an awesome ornament for the ornament raffle or ornament exchange (or both!)? Rumor has it Father Christmas will be visiting as well.
Angels Yule will take place Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Dabney Hall on the
Caltech campus, 1200 E. California Blvd., Pasadena, CA91125.

Noon : Site opens for the populace
2:00 pm (or at Their Majesties' and Their Excellencies' pleasure): Court
10 minutes after Court: Sign-ups Close for the Bardic and Gaming Championships and for the Table Decorating and Dessert Contests
3:00 Table Decorating Contest Judging
3:30 pm : Yule Potluck Dinner. No Holds Bardic Competition begins.
4:00 pm Gifts to Father Christmas' bag (for those who wish to participate)
4:30 pm : Dessert Contest Judging
5:00 pm : Ornament Raffle
5: 10 pm Ornament Exchange begins, ongoing through the end of the event
5:30 or 6:00 pm (or at TRM's and Their Excellencies Pleasure) -- Closing Announcements, Prizes Awarded for All Contests. (Per Her Excellency, after the closing announcements, it's okay to leave whenever you want. The rest of the evening will be talking, gaming, and generally hanging out with friends.)

No access to a kitchen? No worries. Bring bread and cheese.
Please bring enough to provide a serving of your dish for 8-10 people. There is no kitchen at the site, however, there are plugs for crockpots. Keep in mind those with food sensitivities and be SURE to include a comprehensive ingredients list. Index cards will be provided. (If your item is from Grandma Albertson's or
Uncle Ralph's, just include the ingredients list from the package.)
Candles that are going to be lit need to be in glass containers. There will be period and non-period categories for the dessert contest. "Parchment" plates and disposable utensils will be provided for contest and regular desserts. There are no facilities for washing dishes; plastic bags for dishes will be provided.
In addition to delectable dining, there will also be entertainment galore. Baron John ap Griffinand Baroness Flavia Beatrice Carmigniani are looking for their new baronial bardic and gaming champions. Enthrall Their Excellencies with your song, dance, poetry, instrumentals, or storytelling in the second annual "No Holds Bardic" championship to determine the new Seraph Bard. Performers are encouraged to sign up in advance to ensure a time to perform. Contact the event steward, THL Catharine Hawkwod da Barbiano, at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up for the bardic competition. Match wits and strategies in the gaming championship
at the Inn of the Crimson Spade. General as well as contest gaming will be vailable.
An ornament raffle will feature several gorgeous ornaments. There will also be an ornament exchange for those wishing to participate. Create an ornament from scratch -- or dress up a purchased one! Add your exchange ornament to the tree and take one for yourself. Ingredients will be available for those who want to
make an ornament on site.
We'll also be holding our annual Toys for Tots drive. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy (valued at $10 or more).
Directions: Exit 210 Fwy in Pasadena at Hill Street and travel south. Turn right on Del Mar, then left on Holliston. Park on the street (read the signs) or in the parking structure. At the corner of Holliston and San Pasqual, follow the walkway to Dabney Hall. There is also parking on California Blvd. To unload and
load ONLY, enter the campus between Buildings 36 and 47 as marked on the map at http://www.caltech.edu/map -- Dabney Hall is Building #40 on the map. Parking permits not required on weekends. Named spaces aren?t reserved unless specifically labeled as Reserved 24 hrs.
