Roman Treasure Discovered in Bulgaria

Novinite: A hoard of gold Republic-era coins dating to the 2nd century BCE has been discovered in the Lozyata Region of Bulgaria. Archaeologists working near the village of Pokraina in Bulgaria unearthed a true treasure recently in the form of over 800 gold Roman coins. The hoard dates from the Republican era of Rome and may prove to be one of the greatest finds in Bulgarian history. The northern area of Bulgaria appears to be rich in undiscovered history, and archaeologists are eagerly planning future excavations.
