Medieval kosher feast in the East

In medieval Spain Moslims, Christians and Jews lived together in relative peace. SCA members recently brought a taste of Jewish life in the Middle Ages to the Reconstructionist Temple Beth Israel in Maywood, New Jersey. Susan Joy Clark of NorthJersey.com has the story.

SCA members Kate Mendelsohn, Jennifer Heisse and Sarah Fiedler planned a three-course kosher feast and lecture for members of the Jewish community November 14, 2010. "There's such a thing as kosher, but Jews have been all over, and it's not so much Jewish food, but food of the various cultures in which they found themselves, that they've taken with them and becomes part of the Jewish culture," said Mendelsohn.
