[NOR] Feast of Boar's Head XXXVI

Join us as we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the founding of Caer Anterth and the investiture of our new Baron and/or Baroness.

Activities include Armored Combat, Unarmored (i.e. Rapier, &c.) Combat, Archery (yes, Archery!), Dancing, A&S Tournament, Classes, Shopping, Auctions, and of course, Feasting. Don't forget the fundraisers such as Toys for Tots, the Silent Auction, and the ever-popular Great Cookie Caper.

The site is handicap accessible. No outside food or drink can be brought in. Exceptions can be made for young children and those with medical & religious needs. Check with the event steward in advance. There is a cash bar on-site. Lunch will be sold on-site.

The Theme of the Day
Great Britain has long been split between north and south, from Celtic Pictland and Roman-occupied Britannia to the rival Kingdoms of Scotland and England. Throughout much of the SCA period, these nations have been at war with each other. The rivalry will continue at Boar's Head.

The concept of "war points" will be incorporated into several of the activities. The participants in the armored, unarmored, and archery tournaments will draw lots to determine which nation will be awarded points upon their victories. There will also be an A&S tournament. The A&S coordinator will draw lots for each entry to determine which nation will be awarded their points. The populace will not know the assignments when they cast their votes. The final winner of the "war" will be announced at Court.

The thistle and the rose represent Scotland and England. We may revive the flower tournament. Rather than using carnations, faux thistles and roses can be made.

This year, we will again sponsor Toys For Tots in collecting new, unwrapped toys; they distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. By the way, Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity, according to its web site last time we checked; so your donation may even be tax-deductible, worth checking with your tax advisor! Please support this cause.

Helpful Notes For Finding Site:
# Some close-up maps reveal that the stretch of CR PV right in front of the site is called Pleasant Hollow, becoming Pleasant Valley at either end.
# Site is approximately 30 minutes north of Milwaukee, 30 minutes south of Fond du Lac, and 1 hour south of the Fox Valley area.
# The site is between Jackson and West Bend, Wisconsin, and is conveniently located off HWY 45 at Exit 65: County Road PV/CR-PV/Pleasant Valley/Pleasant Hollow.
# Site is on large grounds on the NorthWest corner of "County Road PV/CR-PV/Pleasant Valley/Pleasant Hollow" and "County Road P/CR-P". The "driveways" from either road to the building are called Bob Fish Gm Blvd and Bob Fish GM Way, respectively. I don't know if there are signs on the actual street or not, but some maps show the names.)
