Have you ever had the urge to own your own Viing longship? Now is your chance. The city of Sandefjord would like to sell a replace of the Oseberg ship found in 1904 in a Viking grave near Tønsberg, Norway. (photo)
The Åsa, which is fully seaworthy, has no motor, but is propelled either by a 90-square-meter sail or eleven pairs of oars. The ship was constructed from 2007 to 2009 at a shipyard in Latvia by Norwegian maritime enthusiast Per Bjørkum, and it can be yours for NOK 3.5 million (nearly USD 600,000 at current exchange rates).
