Crusader-era fresco on display in Jerusalem

A rare Crusader-era fresco depicting a New Testament scene has gone on display to the public at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. The fresco was discovered during restoration work to preserve archaeological sites affected by floding.

Only fragments of the 12th century mural remain. The original may have been 30 feet tall.

Only two other such frescoes of this time period are known of from Jerusalem.
