Donation to help conserve living history of Acre

The city of Acre in Israel, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the region, will receive support to its conservation efforts from a new partnership with the City of Rome and its mayor.

Mayor Giovanni Alemanno, recipient of the lucrative Dan David Prize bestowed by Israeli industrialist Dan David, chose to devote the funds to a project within Israel. Part of the project seeks to inform local residents about the value of their city in order to discourage vandalism and promote conservation.
