The Canton of Tanwayour invites you to join us for the Canton's anniversary and the Talanque Memorial on June 26.
Talanque was the founding Baron of Calafia and sat the throne of our fine Barony for 22 years, the longest reign in Caid. As usual the memorial after the tourney will be for all of our friends that have passed on as well as Baron Talanque. Due to the dryness of our area, we will have a small funeral pyre. Lunch will be offered for $5.
The cooking competition this year is for desserts. You may cook anything you like, you bring your own ingredients, but it must be cooked on site. Extra points will be awarded for gargoyle themed results.
This anniversary will be a camping event, Friday the 25th of June through Sunday the 27th, at Potrero County Park. Our encampment will be in the group camping area, what our members normally call the archery range at May War. The site fee is $10 dollars to stay the entire time in the group camping area and $5 dollars just for the day Saturday. Please make your check payable to: SCA Inc., Canton of Tanwayour. If you wish to camp in one of the RV spaces or in one of the other areas, arrangements, reservations and payment must be made through the Potrero County Park system. This can be done on-line or via phone conversation. Many of the sites were open as of 14 June.
Directions: From San Diego, Highway 94 East to Potrero Valley Road. North (left) on Potrero Valley Road to Potrero Park Drive (right). The park is east on Potrero Park Drive.
