[ATL] Tournament of the Golden Rose

The Inspirations of Atlantia, the Ladies of the Order of the Rose, invite you all to gather for a day filled with pageantry and more! On September 4, 2010, those Noble Ladies who have worn the Crown shall send forth Their Champions of the Roses to the field, not for prowess or vainglory, but to pay tribute to the Ideals held dear and encouraged by the Order. This is a day not to be missed!

Martial Activities

Each Lady of the Rose shall send forth unto this field:

    * A Knight of Noble Quality and Renowned Prowess
    * A Bearer of the White Scarf, Honorable and Skilled in the Arte
    * An Armored Fighter, who dreams of wearing the Belt and Chain
    * One Archer, upon which battle will be decided
    * A Herald gifted with a silver tongue

The Ladies of the Rose shall also select an Additional Armored Fighter and Fencer to join their Company from tournaments to be held the morning of the Golden Rose Tournament. Thus shall 7 nobles of our land take the fields and seek to glorify the virtues of: Grace, Courtesy, Honor and Inspiration.

Directions
From Points North, West & East

Make your best way to Raleigh, NC. At Raleigh get on I-440 (the beltline that goes around Raleigh). Go to the South side of town to Exit 298A (US-401 South). Go South on US-401, stay on the Right. After 1.4 miles, the road forks—stay on the Right and go another 5.3 miles to Ten Ten Road (Route 1010) and turn Right. Go a half mile and turn Left onto Lake Wheeler Road. Go 1.2 miles and turn Right onto Optimist Farm Road. Go 0.9 miles, look for the SCA sign and turn Right into the site.

From I-40 in Cary, NC

Take Exit 293A (US 1 South/US 64 West) toward Sanford/ Asheboro. Turn Left onto Walnut Street and drive 5.2 miles. Turn Left onto Ten Ten Road and drive 1.1 miles. Turn Right onto West Lake Road and drive 1.6 miles. Turn Left onto Optimist Farm Road and drive 1.4 miles. Turn Left at the sign and drive through the gate.

From Points South

From I-95, go North on US-401. After you’ve passed through Fuquay-Varina, you will come to a traffic light on the edge of town. On the Left there is a Papa’s Pizza, a car wash and an Exxon station. From there, go 2.8 miles North to a five-way intersection at a light. Turn Left onto Hilltop Needmore Road. Go 0.4 miles to the next light and turn Right onto Lake Wheeler Road. Go 2.3 miles and turn Left onto Optimist Farm Road. Go 0.9 miles, look for the SCA sign and turn Right into the site.
