For the past two years, Marc Johnson and Sheree Krasley, who met in the SCA, have collaborated to bring the mead experience to southeastern Pennsylvania with their Stonekeep Meadery. Amy Strauss of the Phoenix (Phoenixville, PA) has the story.
The pair produce a variety of meads, from very dry to sweet, and processed over 5,000 pounds of honey last year. "We love educating the public about what mead is," concluded Krasley. "We have become very good at suggesting recommendations towards the tastes you are most drawn to."
Stonekeep Meadery has also begun to keep their own hives, with three currently producing honey, and more planned for the future.
