Medici collection sculpture to be sold

An antiquity once owned by Lorenzo de Medici will go on sale at Sotheby's June 11. 'Il Magnifico' laid claim to Three Satrys Fighting a Serpent shortly after its excavation in 1489.

After Lorenzo's death, the piece fell into obscurity, reappearing in a private collection in the Austro-Hungarian Empire during the 1850s. It is estimated to sell at US$300K-500K.
