Laser scanner to survey Robin Hood prison

Archaeologists from the University of Nottingham plan to use laser technology to survey a cave used as a dungeon under the city's Galleries of Justice. It is possible that the cave once housed Robin Hood.

The cave survey project, funded by the Greater Nottingham Partnership, East Midlands Development Agency, English Heritage, the University of Nottingham and Nottingham City Council, will cost UK£250,000, and hopes to increase tourist access to the underground dungeons.
