Nature: A mystious, 16th-century coded manuscript is still stumping scholars. Or is it a hoax?
Gordon Rugg, a computer scientist for Keele University, recently used
Elizabethan spy techniques to recreate the Voynich manuscript, a coded document
that has stumped scholars for centuries. Rugg believes the book to be a hoax
created to separate an emperor from his gold, but he challenges code specialists
to prove him wrong.
