[CAL] Tournament of Horse and Falcons

May 29th through 31st (Memorial Day Weekend) will herald the return of the Barony of Forgotten Sea’s (mostly) annual “Tournament of Horse and Falcons” at the Lilies War site in Smithville, Missouri!

Location:
Kelsey Short Youth Camp, 17980 Collins Rd, Smithville, MO 64809

This event will feature Combat, Equestrian, and Archery activities on both Saturday and Sunday.

Combat activities will take place on the new Lilies War battlefield area, and will include a tournament styled on previous “Tournament of Falcons” using five-person teams. If you still have energy left after that meat-grinder, there will be melees to help you burn off what remains to leave you with that “freshly-fried” feeling, and ready for beer and bacon.

Equestrian activities planned for both days will include an Emprise, Knight’s Challenge, beginner and intermediate challenges, and authorizations. However, I don’t know if horses like beer and bacon.

Archery activities will involve lofting pointy things through the air at targets to the awe and amazement of spectators. Bacon would probably survive this, but beer will not.

There will be an A&S competition Saturday evening for homebrew beer or any item made out of bacon, judged by the Baronage and the top bidder.

Site Hours: Site opens Friday at 5 pm, and closes Monday at noon.

Site Fees: Adults: $10; Ages 13 – 17: $7; Ages 12 & under: Free.

Adult non-member surcharge: $3. Make checks payable to “SCA, Inc. - Barony of Forgotten Sea”.
