Announcement of Second Annual "Barhus Prize"

Baroness Mairi ni Raghaillaigh and Baron Mord Hrutsson the Green will once again be offering the "Barhus Prize" for best documentation at the Ice Dragon A&S Pentathlon in March in the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael. Greetings! Since we know that everyone is busily working on their projects for Ice Dragon (hint, hint), Sir Mord and I thought we might send some more incentive and inspiration your way.

Once again, we will be offering the Barhus Prize for the best documentation at the Festival of the Passing of the Ice Dragon A&S Pentathlon in March in the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael, Kingdom of AEthelmearc. Our intent is to inspire entrants to think about their documentation and perhaps take a bit more time and care with putting it together, and to remind the judges to take a bit more time and care in reading the documentation they are presented with. The Prize includes a $100 cash award, which buys a lot of photocopies. : )

Last year it was decided that the easiest way to award the Prize was to give it to the gentle with the highest score for documentation on a single entry in the competition (documentation being one of the scoring categories). We will be doing the same thing again this year, unless someone comes up with a better idea. The 2003 Prize was split between two artisans, Master Bedwyr Danwyn (for his display on rush lighting) and Lady Bridgette McLean (for her flat cap dyed with madder).

So, stop all that holiday shopping and celebrating, and get back to work!!
