Mistress Safia al-Khansaa', Coordinator of the Known World Pennsic Youth Arts and Sciences Display at Pennsic War 39, invites young SCAdians to participate in the exhibition, and all others to attend.
Mistress Safia writes:
Unto the fine gentles of the Known World does Mistress Safia al-Khansaa' of the East Kingdom send warmest greetings!
I would like to take this opportunity to invite one and all to our Fifth Annual Known World Youth Arts and Sciences exhibition at the 39th Pennsic War.
This is a wonderful chance for our Youth to show off their extraordinary talents and projects that they have been pursuing in the past year. It is a great way for children to not only share their efforts with adults from the Known World, but it is also a great opportunity for the youth to network with each other, and carry the torch of creativity to the next generation of the SCA.
Being the coordinator of this wonderful undertaking has been a great honor, and I can truly say that as an artist, I have never been more creatively inspired than to see the amazing work of our youth..
The display takes place in the Youth Tent at Pennsic, which is right next to the playground, across from the Cooper store. It is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, August 3rd, between 9am and 12 noon. Please check the Pennsic War website, pennsicwar.org, to confirm the date as Pennsic gets closer.
This is also a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to share their
love of the Society with their children. With summer right around the
corner, you can start planning a special project with your child that they
can share and display once Pennsic rolls around.
Registration and details about the exhibition will be available very soon on the Pennsic website. There are grade specific registration forms that are designed for the children to fill out in their own words. Youth and their parents may also register in person the day of the display.
The children are looking forward to seeing you all at the exhibition, so come on out and experience something unique, fun, and truly inspiring!
In Service to the Society and the Arts I remain,
Mistress Safia al-Khansaa'
