[WES] Oerthan Summer Coronet

Their Highnesses Kennric and Rolynnda, Prince and Princess of Oertha, do invite all to participate in or bear witness to the Coronet List to select the next Prince and Princess of Oertha, the weekend of July 16th thru the 18th, 2010.

Activities will include the coronet tourney on Saturday, Roses tourneys, competitions, an A&S display, children's area and activities, bardic, etc. For competitions, the Principality A&S Minister and the Autocrats invite the Guilds within Oertha to sponsor a contest or to teach a class. To start with, Gryphon Cellarmasters is sponsoring brewing and cordial competitions, Measure for Measure cooking guild is sponsoring period spice combinations, Guild 'o Radnor is sponsoring a contest on period riddles, Arachne's Web Lacemakers Guild will be teaching a beginning bobbin lace class, and the Gamer's Guild will be holding a class on Mancala with a tourney to follow as well as a competition of period games (boards and pieces, etc).

There will be an open A&S display set up inside the hall on Saturday.  All artisans are invited to show off their wonderful projects, even if you choose not to participate in the competitions.  We do ask that you include a card with your name and the item description for use in the display.  If you have documentation, please bring it as it will be a welcome addition.

After the Coronet Tourney, there will be a Roses tourney for heavy and rapier fighters.  Boffer fighting is a possibility for the children if there is interest. There will be a "children's area" with games, toys and activities, available through the event. We strongly encourage all parents and willing bodies to volunteer an hour or two in service to our Oerthan Treasures.

Our site is the Dogmusher's Association hall and grounds on Farmer's Loop Road. Camping is available and encouraged, with space around the list field open for period pavilions and Royal and Baronial Sunshades, with all other camp spaces arranged around and behind the list field spaces. For 'crash space' available for travelers, as well as transportation help: please contact the autocrat.

There are no open fires allowed and the site is discreetly wet.  The hall is available for meeting space, classes, and meals. The kitchen will be available for potable water and for dishwashing.   For the best coordinating of camping space and food stores, we humbly request that you RSVP as soon as possible.  If you wish to camp, please include your pavilion/tent dimensions in your RSVP as well as what kind of pavilion it is (period, peri-oid, coleman, etc).  All RSVPs, questions, and concerns can be sent to the reservation coordinator and Autocrat secretary, Margery Garret, at motherchaos@gci.net

The event fee includes Saturday breakfast and lunch and Sunday brunch. The Barony of Winter's Gate will be providing a warm and hearty Friday evening dinner of potato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for arriving travelers and locals working on setup and pre-registering. A fundraiser feast for the Barony of Winter's Gate will be available on Saturday evening, for the purchase of a feast ticket (details to follow).  If you do not wish to partake of the feast, there are many food options available nearby.

Event fees are: adults, $18; children 5-12yrs, $10; children under 5, free; family maximum, $45. Please remember that the Non-member Surcharge increases after July 1 from $3 to $5.  If you are a non-member and wish to avoid the increase, or you are a member who wishes to have one more thing taken care of before the event, you may send your fee pre-payment to Althea Dooley.
