We are fortunate to have a most amazing site at the Connecticut Street Armory, 184 Connecticut Street, Buffalo, NY 14213 – it is an actual castle built in the late 1800s, with a stupendous great hall and room for every activity possible. Everything inside under one roof with lots of heat! And activities there will be—fencing, heavy fighting, music, merchants, children’s activities, and of course the world famous A&S Pentathlon! We look forward to hosting legions from our Kingdom and beyond!
Costs for the event are: Pre-registration until March 15, adult $12, youth 6-12 years $6. At the door, adult $15, youth 6-12 years $7. Six and under free at all times. There will be a $3 NMS payable at the door. Make checks payable to the Barony of Rhydderich Hael, SCA, Inc.
The reservations clerk is Pani Zofia Kowalewska, (Melissa Hannon, 53 Koester St, Buffalo NY 14220, email@example.com, 716-867-5550, no calls after 9 pm). The autocrat is Lady Ysabeau Tiercelin (Phoebe Sharp, 7895 Quaker Road, Orchard Park, NY 14127, firstname.lastname@example.org, 716-662-2058).
The site will open at 9 am and close at 9 pm. Because this is a working military installation, every person over the age of 18 is required to have a picture ID, with no exceptions. Please be aware that all bags may be subject to search at any time. We strongly encourage pre-reservation as this will put you into a much shorter line to enter.
There will be no feast, but we will have a tavern open throughout the day.
The Pent Coordinator for this year is Baroness Orianna Fridrikskona (email@example.com, 315-331-3788 from 7pm-10pm weeknights, Orilee Ireland-Delfs, 731 South Main Street, Newark, NY 14513). Note that cut-off for the submission of entries in the Literary Arts (Research paper, Musical arrangement & composition, and Poetry & prose) is February 7! Please contact the Pent Coordinator or check the Ice Dragon website for submission details.
Merchants, contact Lady Muirgel ingen Ghiolla Chomhgaill (Coleen Coil, 2101 Transit Road, Elma, NY 14059, firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information. Merchant forms, costs and rules can be found on the website.
Parking is on the street, although we hope to reserve a lot at a nearby college. We will have a manned drop-spot in front of the site so that you can leave gear, park and then return. The site is handicapped accessible with a wheelchair lift and an elevator in the building. The event will be on three floors, and the elevator will be limited to handicapped use, so pack lightly! Heavy fighting will be on the first floor.
The website for the event is up and running – check it often for updates at www.ice-dragon.info.
