Archaeologists working on excavations in the chancel of the Church of Sant Feliu Girona in Catalonia, Spain, have discovered the remains of a 6th or 7th century tombs, as well as an ancient Roman temple.
In addition to the the tombs, one of which may have belonged to a bishop, experts discovered a temple "with cross-shaped plan, apse, three naves and two side chapels." The excavations are part of the European project "Sopra e sotto. Euopea La Città."
