[ATE] Boar's Den II

Calling all Lords and Ladies ready to Revel! Please join us on January 23, 2010 from 6 pm to Midnight (after the Sable Knight Tourney) for an evening playing games of chance, court and country dancing, a bardic competition and a brewing competiton. The Boar's Den is a fine establishment where lords and ladies may relax and enjoy themselves in a tavern atmosphere; where music and merriment abound!

It is our intent to have activities for all ages. However, there will be separate gaming venues for youth and adults. It is our hope to have musicians present to play music for the dancing. Also, throughout the evening, there will be a modest appetizer table with savory and sweet bites for all to partake during their gaming and in between dances.

Brewing Competion: All categories will be available for entry; including but not limited to ales, cizers, meads, wines and cordials. We will have a distinguished panel of judges to determine the prize winners.

Bardic Competiton: Participants are encouraged to present a song, story, or poem, utilizing one or all of the following themes: War, Atenveldt, Boars, Heroes. Prizes will be awarded to the populace choice in each.

Site: Unitarian Universalist Church 4831 E. 22 Street, Tucson.

Site Fee: $7.00 Adult Members, $10.00 Adult Non-Members, Youth 5-18 $3.00, Youth under 5 years, Free.

Site is WET. Period Containers preferred.

But wait! There's more:

In an effort to help the Boar's Den look like a real tavern from the middle ages, I am seeking to borrow wooden benches and tables from gentles in the barony.

I am also seeking Lanterns and Carpets to borrow to assist with atmosphere lighting and flooring.

Anyone wishing to bring an appetizer dish is welcome to do so! We will have some items already, but if you have a special tasty appetizer that you wish to share, contact me to coordinate.

Please consider this like when we ask for folks to bring their banners. No obligation to, but the more we have, the better the feel of the event will be!

Last, but not least, anyone wishing to assist in the set up of or tear down of the event, I always welcome your generous help and it is a great opportunity to learn how to make an event happen. So, if you're interested in autocratting and want to get a bit of experience, drop me a line.
