Come hither all good people of Insulae Draconis and pray attend.
In but a few months’ time, on the 20th day of February, in the year of 2010 by the common reckoning, there shall come an occasion that few will witness more than once in their lives. These splendoured isles of the dragon have been granted the privilege to be a full Principality in the Kingdom of Drachenwald, and are thus in need of a Prince and Princess to lead them. On that glorious February day, a grand tournament shall be held. A few brave souls shall take up arms and do battle: for the favour of their consorts, for honour and chivalry on the battlefield and to determine who shall have the great honour and responsibility to be the first to wear the Coronet of Insulae Draconis.
Such an occasion will live long in the memories of all who witness it, but it is perhaps, also deserving of a more permanent reminder. Thus, we have decided that there should be, for all who wish it, a more tangible memento of the occasion. For this purpose, we have commissioned the following items to be made available to the populace:
Item the first:
A commemorative beaker, in style of the Surrey Wares of the Tudor period, affixed with an emblem reflecting the arms of these isles. These have been commissioned from the master craftsman John Hudson, who was responsible for the Surrey Mugs that were created for the 15 Year Coronation last year. This will be a goblet type beaker, rather than the handled mug produced for that occasion, but decorated in a similar fashion. The beaker is approximately 4.5" high and 3" in diameter at the rim.
These shall be available for UK£10 each and will only be available for collection at the event.
Item the second:
Commemorative clothing. A T-Shirt, in black cotton, bearing a design by Lady Trinite Ducalon on the front, and wording appropriate to the occasion on the back. These will be 215gsm Hanes Beefy T-shirts and will be available in sizes from S to XXXL.
T-shirts will be available for UK£15 each, collected at the event, or UK£18 if posted.
The same design will be available as a sweat-shirt or polo-shirt, also on black. These will be available for £20 each, collected at the event, or UK£24 if posted.
People who are interested should let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please remember to indicate how many mugs, and how many shirts of what size you require.
Please note: Mugs are limit to the first 75 orders and all commemorative clothing must be ordered by the 20th January.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself and I’ll try my best to answer them.
Funds raised from these items will go towards the new coronets for Insulae Draconis and any remaining funds to the Insulae Draconis general fund.
