[WES] Vinhold All Hallows 30th Anniversary Feast

His most generous, temperate, and exalted Baron of Vinhold, Gavin, invites you to a culinary and bardic adventure in celebration fo the Barony of Vinhold's 30th Anniversary on November 14th, 2009.

The feast will be in the style of medieval Provence. There will be three competitions to entertain his guests in the them of education. The first is the sotilté competition in which our contestants shall vie for the honor of most impressively portraying the theme of education in food. (This competition may be judged later in the day, so please make your own arrangements regarding food safety for your entries.) The second contest will be the cordial competition that our palates may be educated by the brewers. Greater consideration will be given to those that submit documentation on the process of making cordials and thus, teach our populace. Finally, his excellency shall hold the traditional bardic competition for the Bard of Vinhold. Bard Serena asks that competitors be prepared to present three pieces on the theme of education. The Bard of Vinhold shall sit at the Baron's side and drink from his cup for the term of one year, and host the competition next year. The three pieces shall be in our traditional style. Three words shall be drawn from a hat and a piece shall be composed on site in accordance with the theme. The second part shall be performance of a medieval piece. The third shall be an original piece in a documentable medieval style that reflects the theme.

The baron has decided that this year, he shall offer judgeships to those who make a donation to Toys for Tots. The Baron shall also be accepting donations for Toys for Tots from anyone who is willing to give to this worthy charity.

*Site Information:* The celebration shall be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in at 1917 3rd Street, Napa, California. The doors shall open at 1:30pm with the first course being served at about 2:30pm. The site fee will be $15 for adult members, $18 for non-member adults, $8 for children over the age of 8. Children under the age of 8 shall be admitted free of charge. Please make checks payable to "SCA, Inc.-Barony of Vinhold"
