The Heavy Tourney will begin at 11 am with a Rapier Tourney to follow. Details of these tournaments are to be announced when they are determined. There will be an A&S class and a children's activity (TBA) offered before and after Feast.
Yule is a time for storytelling. A prize will be offered to the best story told during Feast, be it one of blood and thunder or a childhood favorite, share your verbal skills in time honored fashion.
Nursery Rhyme/Fairy Tale Dessert Contest sponsored by Mistress Etain. Create a dessert from your favorite childhood story: (gingerbread man, pies, tarts, Hansel & Gretel's cottage, etc). Extra points for Documentation.
A&S contest: create an ornament made of natural materials (fur, leather, wood, feathers, etc) to decorate our Yule tree. Prize given for best child and best adult entries.
Hot soup, cider, tea and coffee will be available throughout the day to warm you.
The Feast is planned for 4:00. It will be potluck, with meats and breads provided. Please bring a dish that will serve 8-10 people according to your birth month: January-June side dish or salad, July-December vegetables or desserts.
Site information: Site is open from 9 am to 9 pm. Site Fee is members $12.00, children 7-13 $8.00, under 6 free. Family cap $25, $3.00 NMS. Make checks payable to SCA Inc. –Selviergard.
Directions: BSA Camp Gorsuch, 22700 Camp Gorsuch Road, Chugiak, AK, 23 miles N of Anchorage, 18 miles South of Palmer, take Mirror Lake exit, left on Old Glenn ½ mile to Camp Gorsuch road, follow road ½ mile back to Lodge. Site is dry.
