In traveling to the Barony of Windhaven (well, actually, the Shire of Turm an dem See as far as territory is concerned) last Saturday to witness the 12th Crown Tournament of our fair kingdom, I enjoyed the company of two lovely ladies, Anora and Helena, and enjoyed a lovely drive on a cool, crisp day (the snow came later....not much but it was witnessed). Eleven couples that were there to compete for the honour and duty to wear the crowns come spring of next year were presented to the Crown and the populace and the day was set. At the end of the day, Sir Tom Tinntinnabulum inspired by Lady Sigrid de la Mare proved victorious over THL Yngvar inn Heppni inspired by Lady Lucertola of Silfren Mere and the line of succession was secured. Their Highnesses were invested while they tried to catch their breath and regain their wits. Evening court saw many honours (I'm sure the court list will be out soon) that culminated in Friedrich von Augsburg's elevation to the Order of the Pelican. Although the aroma wafting from the kitchen promised us that Windhaven would live up to their reputation ("Welcome to Windhaven. Have you eaten yet?") but we hit the road as soon as Court was complete. I am sure others will sing the praises of the feast for a long time to come. All in all, it was a full day filled with many memories.
My view of the day can be found online.
