New Exhibit on Archaeological Discoveries at the British Museum

"Buried Treasure: Finding Our Past" will be on display at the British Museum from November 21, 2003, through March 14, 2004. The exhibit demonstrates the extent to which archaeological discoveries have revolutionized our understanding of our past.

Artifacts in the exhibit will include the Mildenhall tableware, the Lewis chessmen, and more recent finds from the Iron Age and Bronze Age, as well as various small finds, like medieval pewter toys and Tudor dress-hooks.

Following the display of the exhibit at the British Museum, it will travel to the National Museums and Galleries of Wales in Cardiff (May-September 2004), The Manchester Museum (October 2004-January 2005), Hancock Museum in Newcastle ( March-June 2005) and Norwich Castle Museum (July 2005-November 2005).
