[EAS] An Italian Schola in the Grand Tradition

Greetings from the Shire of Montevale! We've uncovered a “piccola parte” (small piece) of Italy in our own backyard. Come join our fair shire at this idyllic site for a day of learning and friendship in the Italian tradition. A variety of Italian themed classes and others will be offered for your educational pleasure. Anyone willing to teach or merchant is welcome, as well as those who wish to learn and shop. There will dancing, entertainment, a gaming area, Bocce (lawn bowling), and a surprise or two. A children's area set aside,(no structured activities are scheduled).

A picturesque view will be afforded to those during their marshaled activities transporting them back to the beauty of Italy as they hone their skills on the field. The activities will provide those inclined an opportunity to fight, shoot archery, fence and participate in thrown weapons.

Our day will begin at 10 AM when gentles arrive at the lovely wooded site for a day of learning, fighting, gaming, and feasting with old and new friends.

Everyone is welcome to take a noon break joining together in a “Pandium” (luncheon) as a delicious day board is presented. As is the Montevale tradition, food will be abundant as everyone joins in the repast either picnicking on the expansive grounds or in the hall. (pssst… Bring your blankets, vino and amore)

Activities will commence at 1 PM as the herald makes the afternoon announcements.

As the evening approaches, classes will wind down and the massive hall will be transformed into the site for The Grand Feast in the Italian Tradition. This will include “Gutus”- Antipasti, “Cena” – Supper, and “Mensa Secunda” – Dessert arranged and prepared by our very own Lady Elsa de Lyon and her wonderful staff.
