"The Middle Ages have traditionally been seen as occurring only in Europe,” Noakes said, but other cultures affected the history and culture of the time period. "During the Middle Ages, Noakes explained, Christians, Muslims and Jews were in conflict with each other, and each group recorded the disputes. Noakes said she wants to bring the works together for the first time, translate them into English and create a performance."
Minnesota professor to receive grant for medieval globalization research

University of Minnesota professor Susan Noakes has received a US$70,000 grant for two years for a project entitled “Globalization of the Middle Ages.” The research will be funded by the university's Imagine Fund.
