Visitors invited to view processing of Anglo-Saxon grave finds

Visitors to the town of Sittingbourne, England have a rare opportunity to watch the processing of artifacts from an Anglo-Saxon burial site. (photos and video)

The treasure trove of over 2,500 items, including chainmail, swords, shields, clothing fragments, beads and glass drinking cups, were discovered recently at a site called the Meads.

Cataloging and cleaning of the artifacts is being done by supervised volunteers in store-front buildings next to the site. Visitors are welcome to stop in to observe how the process takes place.
