Ashburton Guardian: Cedric Bell, a British amateur archaeologist, believes that the Chinese may have discovered New Zealand over two thousand years ago. According to Cedric Bell, The Chinese discovered and settled New Zealand over two thousand years ago, centuries before the Maori, and had sophisticated settlements on the South Island. Bell believes he has found the remains of canals and mining operations as well as a fortified city at Rakaia Huts.
