Gajalakshmi statue found in Kashmir

A small statue of the Hindu goddess of wealth Gajalakshmi has been discovered at Nagbal Lesser village in Jammu and Kashmir. The stone carving dates to the 6th or 7th century C.E.

The brown limestone sculpture, measuring 9 inches x 5 inches (23 x 13 cm), depicts the goddess, seated between two lions, holding a lotus and a cornucopia.
