Experts are still not certain if the remains mark the beginning of a graveyard, or "could have slipped down from the graveyard on Royal Terrace." The construction project would divert utilities before laying new tram rails. "It will be fascinating to see what they uncover. At least something positive has come out of the tramworks," said Professor Donald Bloxham, a historian from Edinburgh University.

Construction workers in Edinburgh, Scotland have discovered the site of a medieval graveyard at the junction of London Road and Elm Row. An archaeological team has been sent in to catalog and remove the remains.
