"The Middle Ages with penicillin and toilet paper"

"I was a history major in college," said Tom Nadratowski, who also is known as Zygmunt Nadratowski. "I would go to museums as a kid, and I always wanted to be able to touch the exhibits. I wanted my kids to be able to touch history ... so I made a suit of chainmail." Nadratowski, of the Shire of Talonvale (Jackson, Michigan) , spoke to reporter Erik Holladay of the Jackson Citizen Patriot. (photo & video)

Holladay spoke with shire members at a recent meeting. "We like to say we enjoy living in the Middle Ages with penicillin and toilet paper," said Filip Schort, describing the SCA. The article includes a 3 minute video with Talonvale members.
