Discovered in 1996, but re-covered because funding was not available to preserve it at the time, the 1,700 year-old Roman floor mosaic covers 600 square feet (56 square meters) and contains more than 2 million small stones depicting "hunting scenes, lions and giraffes from Africa, and scenes of the sea with ships and fish." A recent grant has allowed the find to be properly preserved, and it is now open once again for viewing.
