Current Viroconium "only tip of the iceberg"

Experts from English Heritage have declared that excavations at Shropshire’s Wroxeter Roman City, Viroconium, have so far revealed "only the tip of the iceberg," and plan to uncover the rest of the city.

Viroconium is believed to have been a huge complex spreading over 200 acres and including 2 miles of walls. The theory is that the original military fortress developed into a retirement city for soldiers and traders.
