New Software Allows Peek at the Past

New software being developed in Great Britain may allow researchers to see beneath floors and peek through walls in search of historical buildings. Allun Jones is Managing Director for GeoInformation Group, a company developing a new software program that will allow homeowners and researchers to look beneath floors and reveal upon what their buildings were constructed.

"With this software we can peel back the modern image to reveal what was there 50 years ago," he said during a recent interview with the BBC's "Go Digital" program.

The program has been developed to search for potential environmental problems such as oil tanks, but researchers see other applications, such as peeking into a building's history.
