"Empire of the Sultans" Comes to the Frick

The Frick Art & Historical Center in Pittsburgh, PA will host the traveling exhibit "Empire of the Sultans: Ottoman Art from the Khalili Collection" November 29, 2003 through February 8, 2004. The Frick Museum in Pittsburgh will be the site of an extensive exhibit of art from the Muslim world when it hosts "Empire of the Sultans: Ottoman Art from the Khalili Collection." The artworks are from the collection of Nasser D. Khalili, one of the largest collections of Islamic art in the world and will include "examples of calligraphy, mosque decorations, scientific instruments, banners, arms and armor, ceramics, carpets, books and paintings."
