Modern British priory attempts to recreate chartreuse

Mount Grace priory in North Yorkshire has planted an herb garden in the hopes of recreating Britain's ancient version of chartreuse.

Mount Grace was the original home of Carthusian monks who, after being sent into exile by Henry VIII, possibly gave their recipe to Carthusian monks in France. France claims to be the original home of Chartreuse liquor, which is made from over 136 herbs.
